A New Forest vacation

For a vacation with a difference hire a Ringwood cottage or Lyndhurst holiday cottages. Ringwood is close to the New Forest and the River Avon. It has a history that dates back to the Anglo Saxon times. Lyndhurst offers some good outdoor countryside style entertainment such as the Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary. From here you can have a clear view of the field where the deer are.

Ringwood is famous for traditional brewery where you can see how the entire process works. The method has not really changed and you will be allowed to get real close to the process. You can also make the most of being in the countryside by enjoying hours of cycling. There are traffic free trails around the New Forest area. This makes it hassle free to cycle around enjoying the scenery, the wildlife, while stopping along the way to enjoy some local food. It is a way of enjoying a holiday where you leave less of a carbon footprint. You can also do some canoeing and kayaking and related activities. You could even get some lessons if you are a beginner and be introduced to this amazing activity. Believe it or not there are excellent well maintained golf courses available for a few games. There is one situated in the New Forest National Park, so players will find themselves coming face to face with wandering deer.

Exbury Gardens is a breathtaking 200 acre garden with a vast collection of trees and plants. You can either walk around or take a train ride or a buggy to view this colourful burst of nature. Another interesting place to visit is the Bournemouth Aviation Museum, where you can actually experience being at the controls of a real aircraft. There are model aircrafts on display. Once done there is an area made for picnicking. For a family travelling with children an ideal attraction would be the Dorset Heavy Horse Rescue Centre. It offers a range of daily activities along with free wagon rides or tractor rides while the kids can enjoy being close to the animals. A little away is the Littledown Centre which offers a full day’s water fun. Both kids and adults can enjoy being in the swimming pool and the thrill of sliding down the watersides. There is also a playground. Kids would like being able to paint mugs as well, at the Coffee Pots Ceramic Café.
